QUE Accounting Inc (1990 - Present)

As a founding partner in QUE Accounting, am responsible for the design, testing and implementation of the firm's range of Time and Attendance products. Also, integral in marketing the firm and products to major distributors and partners and do occasion, hold instructional seminars on product features and participated in several trade shows.

Responsible for "hands on" management of client consulting engagements which includes work in client server and web based projects.

Time and Attendance Lead developer

The system was originally written in Clipper 5.0 and stored information in Xbase file format. It was ported over to Visual Basic 3.0 using a host of third party tools including Microsoft Access 2.0 and Watcom SQL. System was converted over to Visual Basic 5.0 and Microsoft Access 7.0, in 1997. System interfaces with external devices via serial communication routines and boasts drag and drop, editable grids, sizable forms and controls, user defined grid layout and a dynamic report writer. Customized labor control system for use in Allied Signal’s Baltimore plant to monitor labor expenses by comparing data collected from the Checkpoint Access control system to information reported on the company’s mainframe. Customized time and attendance program to handle exceptions presented by Allied Signal, Port Elizabeth, NJ. Developed an attendance program utilizing Checkpoint Access control system to provide raw time information. Data is converted and processed to obtain information on employee hours. System determines average start and end times, total time missing from plant and accumulates data for historical reference. Developed interfaces to leading Access Control System providers.

Lead Consultant Served as Project Manager, System Analyst and Programmer for several Fortune 500 companies in the Philadelphia area.

ARA Services, Philadelphia, PA (October 1986 May 1990)

Project Leader

Played a vital role in downsizing current COBOL applications to the PC platform and was responsible for choosing the development environment and training ARA Services' MIS staff in Foxbase.

Designed and developed Accounts Payable system in Foxbase for use by ARA Service sites across the country (over one thousand locations).

Designed and developed a Payroll system in Realia COBOL for field distribution.

Designed and developed communication system using Foxbase and third party tools for use by ARA sites for the transmission of Account Payable and Payroll data from field offices.

Philadelphia Stock Exchange, Philadelphia, PA ( March 1985 October 1986 )

Project Leader-Programmer Analyst

Worked on the design, development and acceptance testing of an on-line trading system for the Philadelphia Stock Exchange. The system was written in UCSD Pascal and accessed a IDSII hierarchical database running on a Honeywell minicomputer.

Developed a number of applications in Dbase III for use by Vice President of Marketing at Philadelphia Stock Exchange to monitor broker and stock sales statistics. Data was retrieved nightly from an IBM 4381mainframe.

Martin Marietta Data Systems, Philadelphia, PA (December 1984 March 1985 )

Computer Systems Designer

Worked on the Martin Marietta development team responsible for the design, development and implementation of a mainframe based accounting system for Drexel University. System was written in Model 204, a relational database and 4GL language residing on an IBM 4300 series mainframe.

Worked as EDP Auditor with Certainteed Corporation, reporting to Senior Vice President of Internal Auditing. Wrote several programs in SAS to access financial data to be used by both internal and independent auditors in substantive audit tests
