Installation ProceduresEach client must have the software installed even if you are planning to use a network server. Run the SETUP.EXE or SETUPV3.exe program and follow the instructions on screen. On some installations an "Abort Retry Ignore" message may pop up if one of the files being copied is in use. Answer Ignore in all cases and make note of file names. The default directory is C:\QUETA but may be changed if desired. Make sure to use DOS naming conventions limiting to 8 characters.
Share a drive by using the Windows Explorer to Map a Network Drive.on each user's machine requiring access. Make sure the drive is marked sharable on the server. Point via the ShortCut property of the QUE Accounting desktop icon or program file to the shared drive for each user. For security reasons, the QUETA.EXE and associated executable files may reside in a separate directory from the data. If so the shortcut must set the path to the data (MDB) and reports (RPT) as in the example (M:\QUETA\QUETA.EXE N:\QUETA). In all cases, make sure the report files and the DBACCESS.MDB file reside in the same directory.
Generally speaking installing to a machine dedicated to access control is not a good idea. Known incompatibilities exist in certain common files for Windsx (Crystal Report version) and Xenet (ODBC) programs.
