Please give a brief description of the business ?

Manufacturing of automobile parts. Specifically break pads and insulation. Our employees force is made up of 1000 hourly, 150 salary and we often have 50 or so contractors we wish to track. We want to use the system to feed payroll. Each shift supervisor will be responsible for editing and authorizing his crew's time. A payroll person will enter in Vacation and Sick time. The controller will need access to run reports.

First shift works one month then 2 weeks on second, then 2 weeks third then back to first. Some employees work 1 week each in rotation.

What is the cut-off time for each shift?

The last shift ends at 6:00 on the first day of first shift for the new period but may work over up to 12:00 that day

Differentials

Explanation:

Second and third shift always get differentials. OT on these shifts is however time and a half.

Security Rules

Will people be given different rights to the system? For eg. some can edit time punches, others can not. Please explain

We need 3 supervisors to see their people only and be able to authorize any exceptions. We do not want them to change time, only the payroll administrator should be able to do that
